The Stits Playboy Restoration is well underway. This is a joint project involving a number of members of EAA14. Jimmy Kennedy and Jerry Boughner are taking the lead on this project which is really a full restoration project, as there was considerable damage to the wings while lying around for what is estimated to be over 40 years! Portions of the wing have been repaired and portions of the wing ribs have been replaced as well. The group has fabricated a new wing tip that was missing as well as a metal wing mount and strut mounting brackets and wing struts, and pitot and static tubes. The aileron activation has been changed from cables to push tubes.

The wing spars were of different lengths and one was about 3" shorter than the design length so the spars had to be re-cut to match the shortest one. This amounts to a loss of about 2 1/2 square feet of wing area.

The wings should be ready to cover shortly.

There is still much work to be done on the fuselage.
